FAA The United State's Federal Aviation Administration, the Civil Aviation Authority responsible for certifying flight simulators and regulating aviation in general

EASA European Aviation Safety Agency, the EU agency responsible for the certification of flight simulators in the European Union, and regulating aviation

ICAO The International Civil Aviation Organization is an agency of the United Nations which operates in an unique international role, for the purposes of simulation they write specifications which are then used to inform Civil Aviation Authorities and may be adopted directly by them

CAA Civil Aviation Authority, a generic reference to the national aviation regulator in the country

Visual The complete system which provides the visual feedback of the flight simulator. Generally this is is only a reference to the out the window visual.

OTW Out The Window the view of the virtual world which can be seen from inside the cockpit.
